First annual "Girls' Night Out" offered a pampered evening for a good cause

For one night only, employees of Meathead Movers replaced their work uniforms with tuxedoes to benefit the United Womens Leadership Council — one of the newest initiatives of United Way. Meathead Movers, in conjunction with Boccaccios Restaurant, hosted the first-ever Girls Night Out event on Monday, Aug. 4 in Westlake Village.
The focus of the United Women's Leadership Council is to help empower female foster youth to be self-sufficient and stable enough to function independently once they leave the foster care system," said Amy Fonzo, United Ways Vice President of Resource Development. "This event raised $9,000 for our female foster youth.
Scott Patterson, Branch Manager for Meathead Movers, said his company was proud to work with the United Way to help raise money for such a worthy cause like the United Womens Leadership Council. Especially in these times, we feel it is important to find a way to give back to the community for those who need it most, he said.
