Meathead Mini Storage has started construction as it enters the self-storage industry. The company will transform the 84 Lumber building on South Higuera into a state-of-the art self-storage facility, filling a big void in San Luis Obispo and the surrounding community.
Upon completion of the phases, the Meathead Mini Storage will offer more than 100,000 square feet of storage space and will have units ranging in size from from 5 by 5 feet to 12 by 30 feet.
Meathead Movers Corporate and local operations center will also be onsite, making the storage unit well staffed and secure. The storage unit will service residential and commercial needs, as well covered boat and vehicle storage.
“We are using the latest technology and surveillance systems to ensure the highest level of security for our valued clients who store their belongings with us,” says Evan Steed, Vice-President, Meathead Mini Storage.
Green Facility
•While revitalizing the existing building, Meathead Mini Storage recycled or reused 80 percent of the waste material. It is also planting more than 280 trees and shrubs on the property, all indigenous and drought resistant. These plants will also be irrigated with recycled water.
•Meathead Mini Storage has dedicated more than 20 percent of the 6.2 acres to open space, recognizing that the multitude of open space that San Luis Obispo enjoys is what makes it so beautiful.
•The company encourages our employees to carpool, take the bus or ride their bikes to work. In fact, it even built all our employees a special bike locker.
•Other sustainable building features Meathead Mini Storage incorporated are LED lights, using natural lighting whenever possible, double-paned windows to hold in the heat or cold, and heavy insulation -- all major energy savers!
