New Rotarian of the Year for 2009
Congratulations to Scott Patterson, Head Move Coordinator of the Camarillo Branch, was recently recognized as Ventura’s New Rotarian of the Year for 2009. Scott has been a Meathead since 2001, started with us moving houses while attending Cal Poly. Scott has since moved up in the company, helped start the Camarillo Branch in 2007 and has been a leading source of energy and inspiration ever since. He has successfully coordinated the relocation of thousands of households and businesses throughout the state. All of us at Meathead are very proud of you!

2008 San Luis Obispo County Green Awards
The award recognized organizations that have taken exemplary steps to make their operations more environmentally friendly, including reducing pollution, conserving resources and improving water and air quality. The winners were chosen from more than 50 nominations by judges representing the Chamber, San Luis Obispo city and county agencies and environmental groups. Meathead Movers – Meathead Movers has grown to be the largest moving company in SLO, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. The award was accepted by CEO Aaron Steed. Among their green practices:
* Introduced biodiesel fuel to their fleet of moving trucks.
* Recycled more than 32,000 pounds of cardboard during summer months.
* Use tablet PCs on the job to cut down on paper use.
* Installed skylights at their offices so they can leave the lights off during the day.
* Spread the word to promote going green through the biodiesel logo on their trucks and their green T-shirts.
