The birth of Meathead Movers

In 1997, we opened our first office in San Luis Obispo, CA. From there we continued to expand within California to Ventura County, Orange County, Fresno County, Bakersfield, San Diego and Temecula Valley. That’s what makes us one of the fastest growing private companies in the U.S for seven consecutive years.

Moving services is a massive industry. It is estimated that 31 million Americans move each year making the demand for moving services constant. The moving industry yields approximately $86 billion in revenue. According to IBISWorld’s analysts, the moving industry is expected to continue to grow exponentially over the next four years.

We promote health and fitness by providing our employees with onsite gyms and professional massages. We believe maintaining a healthy workout regimen boosts physical and mental health that enables people to perform at their best.

At Meathead, we also provide our employees with computer labs to ensure they are prioritizing their personal education. That’s also why we established Meathead University, which is a unique training program that teaches our employees everything from tying a trucker’s knot, writing a resume, how to file taxes, how to problem solve in high-stressed situations, and even restroom mannerisms at customer’s homes. After completion of Meathead University, we hope that we have instilled confidence and better prepared our employees to move onto leadership roles within or outside of our company.

Additionally, Meathead Movers values the importance of community. Meathead Movers developed a nonprofit organization, MoveToEndDV, to encourage additional businesses to donate goods or services to victims of domestic violence or to shelters. By helping to develop our employees, through implementing community service into our core Meathead culture, we hope to spark growth and guide our employees’ moral compass.

We have happily hosted over 50 barbecues for our Meathead Movers Hall of Fame. Our Hall of Fame lists both current and past employees who have sought out a variety of different avenues such as professional and college athletics, civil service, and professional development.
