BakersfieldNow: Meathead Movers Collecting Donation Items for Fire Victims

BY BAKERSFIELDNOW STAFF

Wildfires in California have left thousands of people homeless, with nothing but the few things they were able to grab as they fled the raging infernos.

Meathead Movers in Bakersfield is asking the community to donate essential goods to those impacted by the fires in northern and southern California.

This is the second time this year that Meathead has collected items for fire victims in California. The company delivered truckloads of goods to victims of the Thomas Fire earlier this year.

Bidwell Presbyterian Church, in Chico, is supporting hundreds of thousands of fire victims and is asking for donations to help them.

The need is great for the following items:

  • Blankets
  • Warm clothing
  • Children and youth clothes
  • Lotion
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Soap
  • Towels
  • Wash cloths
  • Socks
  • Underwear
  • Brushes
  • Toothpaste
  • Toothbrushes
  • Backpacks
  • Duffel bags
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • First aid items
  • Pet food and supplies

Donations are being collected from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Thursday at Meathead Movers, 2905 Unicorn Road, Suite A, in Bakersfield.
